The customer is a large provider of software development services to international clients.
Customer’s departments and services have many different sources of information — file shares, local and outside-hosted websites, HRMs and CRMs from various vendors, etc.
General business processes are carried out by means of exchange of printed documents, e-mails and verbal communications that take a lot of time; many people are involved in the processes.
For example, the new employee registration process requires filling in one paper form and three more electronic forms for various company services. Correspondingly, changes of personal information take considerable time and efforts.
Support of different information systems takes too many technical, financial and human resources for customizations, repairs and updates.
Microsoft SharePoint server provides a platform solution that meets all the mentioned challenges. Using the platform, we managed to gather information from different sources into a single entry point. In addition, with the server capabilities, we have automated major company business processes, like employee recruiting and hiring, business trips processing, purchasing, training, etc.
The multi-site model within the SharePoint farm used in order to combine multiple data sources in the portal solution. User access is configured on the base of Active Directory security groups that allow to control easily access rights of users moved between teams and departments.

The solution was first implemented on the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and later migrated to SharePoint 2013. As part or migration from MOSS 2007, a number of Web Apps were updated and replaced with new features and look of SharePoint 2013.
We developed the PowerShell script that updates the look, colors and fonts for more than thirty sites simultaneously – to support the Customer's re-branding campaign.
The implemented SharePoint portal solution allowed the Customer:
